Explore Australian Shiraz ($150) Thursday 29th August from 7 till 9PM

This event is a look at Australia's most iconic and surely our greatest grape, Shiraz.

You will be led on this vinous journey by our favourite wine guru, Rob Geddes M.W.

As part of our Explore Series this is a great night for those that know they love Shiraz but want to understand the wines that little bit more. Thus the aim is that by the end of the night you will not only know what you like but also why you like it.

Can you pick the difference between Barossa and McLaren Vale? Will you prefer the cool climate wines from Canberra or the historic Hunter Valley? Can WA and Victoria match the traditional SA powerhouses? What trends can be seen within the market? What food is best served with what wines and why?

All of these questions and more will be answered as we showcase some of Australia's most renowned winemakers and wines as well as some of the emerging superstars.

Minimum 12 wines will be served along with delicious parcels of food designed to complement the wines.

  • Much more.

This course is designed for those with limited experience or relatively low confidence with wine.

If you can already describe the difference between Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling and know you would pair a Cabernet with a lamb roast then you should be looking to our 4 week or 1 Day Wine Appreciation courses with Master of Wine Rob Geddes.

If however you choose a wine based on its pretty label, or simply pick the 2nd cheapest bottle on the list, then this is the course for you.

We do suggest brunch prior to arrival with plenty of options close by. (Call us if you would like a recommendation?)

Included in the course:

  • 18+ wines

  • 6 examples of food and wine matching (so whilst not served as "lunch", you will go home feeling fed as well as watered)

  • A wine booklet with notes to take home and enhance your knowledge

  • Presentation making you relaxed enough to ask any question, enjoyable enough to have fun and informative enough to learn a lot.

Explore Australian Shiraz ($125) Thursday 20th October from 7 till 9PM
